   Vocabulary Activities for The Game Begins

 

Comprehensive Vocabulary Table—Choose from this list of challenging vocabulary (organized by chapters) based on the reading levels and needs of your students.

(If you do not have Java installed you can obtain it from java.com. If you do have Java you may need to check your security settings to make sure that applets are enabled, especially if you are viewing the puzzle from your hard disk. In Windows XP you may be able to enable the applet by clicking on the yellow bar at the top of the window and selecting "Allow blocked content".)

        Ch. 2-3 quiz also assesses setting, problem, figurative language, synonyms for “said,” and vivid verbs.

Ch. 7-8 quiz also assesses figurative language and genre.

        Ch. 9-10 quiz also assesses main characters.

        Ch. 11-12 quiz also assesses characterization and summarizing.

        Ch. 13-14 quiz also assesses figurative language.

        Ch. 15-16 quiz also assesses analogies and figurative language.
